General Situation
15 October 2022The moderate high-pressure system covers upper Thailand while the low-pressure cell downgraded from SONCA covers southern Laos and Cambodia. Cool weather with isolated rain is likely in the upper country and strong wind is possible in the Northeast. At the same time, the monsoon trough lies across the middle South of Thailand with continuous rainfalls and isolated heavy rains in the South. People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothills near waterways and lowlands. The strengthening wind and waves in the lower Gulf and the Andaman Sea are 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ship should should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. In addition, another rather strong high-pressure system from China extend to upper Vietnam. it is expected to cover upper Thailand and the South China Sea leading to less rains and decreasing in temperature over the upper country. 2 - 4 °C drop in temperature with strong winds is likely in the North and the Northeast. 1 - 3 °C drop in temperature is likely in the Central and the East.

Eastern
Cloudy and isolated light rains mostly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo and Chachoengsao. Minimum temperature 20-23 °C. Maximum temperature 27-31 °C. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy rains in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. Minimum temperature 22-25 °C. Maximum temperature 30-33 °C. Northwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers with isolated heavy rains in Ranong, Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Minimum temperature 23-24 °C. Maximum temperature 26-30 °C. Northwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
