General Situation
22 August 2022The monsoon trough lies across Myanmar, upper Laos and upper Vietnam while the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Isolated heavy rainfalls are forecast for the North. Northeast, the East and the South (west coast). People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothills near waterways and lowlands. In addition, tropical storm MA-ON, due east of the Philippines, is expected to move into the upper South China Sea from 23 to 25 August. It will make landfall over the east coast of southern China without a direct effect on Thailand.

Eastern
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 24-28 °C. Maximum temperature 31-35 °C. Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and 1-2 meters in thundershowers..
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat Minimum temperature 23-25 °C. Maximum temperature 32-35 °C. Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and 1-2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang. Minimum temperature 23-24 °C. Maximum temperature 30-32 °C. Phuket upwards : Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers. Krabi downwards : Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and 1-2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Scattered thundershowers. Minimum temperature 25-27 °C. Maximum temperature 32-35 °C. Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.
